Oaklen’s Story

Meet Oaklen – Oaklen is a sweet little boy who was diagnosed with a neurological genetic disorder found in less than 30 individuals worldwide (LMBRD2). He experiences global developmental delays—both physically and neurologically. Oaklen is unable to physically support himself and has very limited motor abilities. Despite these profound challenges, he continues to show determination and a deep inner strength that inspires his family every day.

JJMF was able to provide Oaklen’s family with a financial assistance grant to help pay for physical DMI Intensive therapy at Hummingbird Therapies in Woodridge, Illinois. Oaklen’s mom, Kelly, shared her profound gratitude,

“We have already seen Oaklen reach new milestones. Watching him accomplish these steps brought tears to our eyes—it is difficult to put into words the joy and hope we felt seeing his progress in such a short time. Every gain, no matter how small, is a huge victory for him and for us as a family. This therapy has given Oaklen not only new skills but also the chance to continue building on them, and we are filled with gratitude knowing that your support helped make that possible. Thank you for investing in children like Oaklen and for bringing such meaningful change into the lives of families like ours.”
