Free Mental Health Services

While parenting a child with undiagnosed, neurological conditions can be incredibly rewarding, it can also be, at times, stressful and emotionally draining on parents and caregivers.

The facts:

  • Parents and caregivers of children with medically complex conditions have higher depression rates.
  • One in five meet the critical criteria for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).1
  • 40% meet partial PTSD criteria.1

But it doesn’t have to be this way.

We know firsthand the importance of supporting a parent’s or caregiver’s mental health, and the positive difference it can have in their lives. That’s why the JJMF is committed to aiding parents’ and caregivers’ mental health, enabling them to help prioritize their emotional and overall wellness, and be best equipped to care for their child.

Through our programming and community partnerships, we provide support for parents and caregivers’ mental well-being with professional facilitated support groups and access to individual therapy, providing positive benefits for the whole family.

We also are committed to helping de-stigmatize mental health issues in parents and caregivers, helping to facilitate important conversations and understanding, and provide relief.
