Building Awareness
Announcing JJMF’s Youth Board
We are seeking high school students interested in joining our Youth Board to help raise awareness and gain support for the special community of families we serve. Do you know a student who would like getting involved in this impactful volunteer opportunity? Help spread the word that applications are due by September 8th!
Days of Recognition
The month of July was National Disability Pride Month. We celebrated the progress and achievements made by the disability community and raise awareness about the barriers that they continue to face.
On August 30th, we recognized National Grief Awareness Day. We honored the many ways that grief manifests itself and shared 5 helpful tips for supporting someone walking through grief.
Board Member Spotlight
Meet Julie Linihan
Julie Linihan is one of our newest Board members, but she has been involved as a JJMF supporter, advocate and volunteer for several years. Through her dedication and commitment, Julie has helped lead JJMF initiatives that have contributed significantly to our growth. We are grateful to have her as a Board member to continue extending the JJMF mission. Read more about Julie here.
Community Support
PT School Respite Care
Expanding our respite care program to connect more families with reliable and trustworthy respite care providers is a top goal at the JJMF. We were honored to attend the “Get Involved Fair” at Washington University Medical School’s physical therapy programto meet lots of students who are interested in helping families in this way.
Virtual Music Therapy
We resumed Virtual Music Therapy in August and had a fun-filled session! Our next session will be held in-person in September, followed by virtual sessions the rest of the year. Click here to register for any upcoming sessions.
