Here’s what we’ve been up to…
Meet Mason!
Through a JJMF financial assistance grant, he recently received the Special Tomato Catch-Up chair. “It’s a wonderful relief to have a chair that will fit him and provide good support for several years, increasing his independence and quality of life.” -Mason’s Mom. The next financial assistance application deadline is March 15.

Karlita Blackwell, JJMF’s Community Engagement Associate, shared her son Ezra’s story of resilience and hope at our Evening of JOY. Ezra was born with a rare genetic condition that is fatal if not screened for at birth and treated via transplant. Karlita shares how JJMF provided her family with both connection and resources as they navigate life with a medically complex, yet abundantly joyful, six-year-old. Read more here.
Resource Spotlight | Mental Healthcare Program
Together with St. Louis Children’s Hospital and Washington University’s Perinatal Behavioral Health Service, the JJMF provides free mental healthcare for parents and caregivers of children being treated in the neurology unit. However, your child does not need to be experiencing an inpatient stay for you to reach out for resources and counseling services, which are available in-person as well as virtually from the comfort of your home.
