Providing relief and support to help children with devastating medically complex, neurological conditions and their families in the St. Louis area and beyond.
Here’s what we’ve been up to…
Save the Date
An Evening of JOY is back! Save the date for Wednesday, November 16 and join us at The Hall at Olive + Oak for a fun evening with emcee and comedian Tim Convy and music by Acoustik Element. Sponsorship and auction opportunities are available. Learn more.
Grants in Action
Thanks to the JJMF Financial Assistance Program, out-of-pocket expenses for Ezra’s Aqua Therapy are covered. Diagnosed with Krabbe Leukodystrophy at 2.5 weeks old, Ezra loves the water and being able to stretch his muscles and build strength in the pool is amazing. Not only does it benefit his body, but it also builds his confidence. Read Ezra’s story.
On the Blog
With planning for An Evening of JOY in full swing, event co-chairs Julie Linihan and Amy Sexauer pop in on the Sorry to meet you this way blog to share what this upcoming spectacular night of celebration and awareness means to them. Read more.
Community Events
The JJMF community participated in Virtual Music Therapy and Virtual Yoga in August. Sign up for our free monthly Music Therapy sessions here and enjoy Yoga on Demand anytime — click here for free access.
Respite Care
Recruiting high-quality respite care providers is a top priority as we work to address the challenges of respite care solutions. In early August we were met with much enthusiasm and interest when we introduced JJMF’s Respite Care program to Physical Therapy students at Washington University.
Bookmarked
Baby’s Very First Touchy-Feely Book from Seedlings Braille Books — This board book was given to June by her vision therapist. The pages of simple images, contrasting colors, and textures are engaging without sensory overload. Check out Seedlings for more great braille picture books for young children, available for free or at low cost.
Donor Spotlight
Thank you to Andrew Scott & Bell Bank Mortgage for their generous Pay It Forward donation. A big-hearted family in our courageous community, we are grateful for the Scotts and their ongoing support of our mission.
