June Jessee Memorial Foundation: Mental Health Services

We have partnered with St. Louis Children’s Hospital and Washington University’s  Perinatal Behavioral Health Service to offer free emotional support to parents and caregivers of medically complex children, ages 0-5 years old.  This position was created to connect families being treated on the neurology unit with appropriate resources and counseling services.

Ranken Jordan Pediatric Bridge Hospital

Provides overnight respite – temporary overnight care for families who need a break from the constant demands of caring for a child who is physically and developmentally disabled.

Family Forward

Provides comprehensive services and coordinated care for children with developmental disabilities in a warm, stable and supportive environment. Short-term respite care and long-term , 24-hour residential care services are offered for  children 0-21 years old with significant medical needs.

St. Louis Arc

Individualized services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families, including: Respite hours (hours must be approved by DMH), Capable Kids and Families: lending library of toys and equipment for children with developmental disabilities (has waiting list), family play dates, music classes and more.

Missouri Department of Mental Health

Similar to First Steps; assigns a case manager who will schedule an in-home check every six months. Administers: Respite hours Sarah Lopez Medicaid Waiver – does not require applicants to be eligible for Medicaid, providing resources and assistance when other means of funding have been exhausted. LadyBug House

Offers end-of-life care with no out-of-pocket charges to families of children with life-limiting illnesses. Provides a full range of respite and hospice care services to individuals, couples and families located in Seattle, through palliative care . This includes pain management, supportive services for families such as physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs.

Seven Hills Pediatric Center

Provides clinical, educational, and community-based support for children and young adults, from infancy to age 22, who have complex medical needs. From short-term respite services to transitional care after an extended hospitalization, patients receive all the necessary medical, nursing, therapy, educational and leisure services possible to enhance their quality of life at the center.

George Mark Children’s House

This pediatric palliative care center works with families that have a child that has been diagnosed with medically complex conditions. They focus on bringing an element of normalcy and joy into their lives through art, music, movement and hydrotherapy which is in addition to the around-the clock pediatric care offered.

Care includes transitional, end-of-life, respite and bereavement services.

Faith’s Lodge

Faith’s Lodge supports parents and families coping with the death or medically complex condition of a child in a peaceful environment to reflect on the past, renew strength for the present, and build hope for the future.  In its north woods setting, Faith’s Lodge provides a peaceful escape for families to refresh their minds and spirits while spending time with others who understand what they are experiencing.
